Shamita Shetty or Shamita Surendra Shetty is an Indian Actor, Model, and professional Interior Designer. She is well known for her appearance in the films Mohabbatein (2000) and Zeher (2005) and the song Sharara Sharara (2002).
She is the sibling of the famous Bollywood celebrity Shilpa Shetty.

Shamita Shetty was born on 2 February 1979 in Mangalore, Karnataka to Surendra Shetty (Father) and Sunanda Shetty (Mother).
She was grown up with her sibling sister Shilpa Shetty.
Career:
Shamita did her schooling at St. Anthony’s Girls’ High School, Mumbai, and did her graduation from Sydenham College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai.
She began her career as an intern of a famous Indian Fashion designer Manish Malhotra.
Shamita debuted her role of Ishika Dhanrajgir in the Bollywood romantic drama film ‘Mohabbatein (2000)’ from which she gained huge public attention and her career initiated.
She became very much famous for her appearance on the “Sharara Sharara” song from the Bollywood film ‘Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai’ (2002).
In 2005 she played a lead role in the Bollywood mystery thriller film ‘Zeher: A Love Story’ for which she got nominated as Star of the Year.
Later did many more Bollywood movies and also participated in Colors’ game show Bigg Boss Season 3.
After pursuing a good career in Bollywood she broke away from the film industry to pursue a career in interior designing and began to design a nightclub in Mumbai named Royalty.
In 2015, she participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8 along with her partner Deepak Singh and she secured the third position.
Later in 2019, she was a contestant in the television show ‘ Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi’ Season 9 in which she successfully secured the fourth position.
Shetty appeared in the ZEE5 original dark comedy series ‘Black Widows’ as Kavita Tharoor.
She appeared as a contestant in the reality show Bigg Boss OTT from 8 August 2021 to 18 September 2021 and she became runner-up in the show.
Recently in 2021, she played a role in the film ‘The Tenant.’

Shamita is dating Raqesh Bapat since 2021. Raqesh Bapat is an actor by profession.
